Barry Lyndon in Blu-ray

Personalmente non ho (ancora) un lettore Blu-ray e non sono passato attraverso la sofferta scelta di chi si chiede se ricomprarsi tutti i propri film nel nuovo formato, tuttavia so che molti aspettano con ansia l'edizione in alta definizione di Barry Lyndon.

Per tutti voi, ecco una notizia pubblicata sul sito The Auteurs che spiega il perché il capolavoro kubrickiano non sia ancora stato distribuito nel nuovo formato.

Some news from a friend of mine who works for Turner: "The only reason Barry Lyndon hasn't yet made it to Warner Home Video dvd & Blu-ray is that the elements need re-mastering for the format; because of the way the film was shot, w/its ultra-sensitive lenses & low light levels, the film poses a real challenge to master for hi-def. Trust me, it'll eventually come out; it's just a matter of time. Warner Bros. doesn't license disc rights to the films they own to outside companies like Criterion; they feel they can do the job fine themselves, so sit tight."

La notizia è di cinque mesi fa quindi coraggio, l'attesa potrebbe volgere al termine.
